Authorities on Friday did not allow congregational prayers in Jamia masjid Srinagar for fifth consecutive Friday.
A heavy deployment of police and para-military CRPF had cordoned off Jamia masjid area since early morning and nobody was allowed to reach the historic mosque.
Local sources said they were not allowed even to step out of their residences.
Reports from other district headquarters also said that people were barred from reaching the central mosques to offer congregational prayers.
The whole valley is undergoing restrictions and curfew since July 9, a day after militant commander, Burhan Wani was killed.
The valley is also observing protest shutdown against civilian killings since 35 days on the joint calls of separatists.
