‘Urged EU to send Parliamentarian Commission to Kashmir’

Kashmiris living in different cities of Europe have staged demonstration against the civilian killings at the hands of Indian government forces in the ongoing unrest.

68 people including two policemen have died in more than 33 days of curfew and protests across Kashmir.

A handout in Urdu issued by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front from Europe to Kashmir based news agency CNS stated that large number of Kashmiri’s residing in Europe staged a peaceful protest outside the European parliament in Brussels Belgium against the Kashmir killings and use of pellet guns on civilians by Indian forces. The protest march was led by JKLF president for Europe Zone Chowdhary Tanvir and General Secretary Masood Iqbal. Besides, the senior vice president of the party Shabir Ahmed Jaral, member Supreme Council Zahid Iqbal, Muzamil Hussain and Chowdary Mushtaq also participated in the protest rally.

Carrying Kashmir flags, placards and banners, the peaceful protesters demanded permanent settlement of Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

JKLF president for Europe Zone Chowdhary Tanvir during his address to the people asked India to stop genocide in Kashmir. He urged upon European Union to constitute a Parliamentarian team to take stock of Kashmir situation. “It is high time for European Union to constitute a Parliamentarian Commission so that lies and propaganda of India about Kashmir can be exposed,” he said.

The protesters denounced the continuous detention of Kashmiri separatist leaders including JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and Noor Muhammad Kalwal and demaned their immediate release from the Indian prisons.

Meanwhile, JKLF senior vice chairman Abdul Hamid Bhat has said that the random arrests, killings, blinding people and continuous detention of freedom loving people will not change the ground reality in Kashmir. “Kashmir is a political issue and India has to address it sooner or later,” he said.
