Tough action needed against Kashmiri separatists: Ram Madhav

The situation in the Kashmir Valley is tense and the state government must act tough against the separatist forces, BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav said on Tuesday.
“The central government is extending all support to normalise the situation in the state, but more work needs to be done,” Madhav said, speaking to CNN News18 television channel.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, a former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ‘pracharak’, also asserted that the Kashmir policy of the Narendra Modi government is the same as that of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
“Our policies for Kashmir have not changed. And there is only one policy — that Kashmir is an integral part of India,” Madhav said, adding, “And this has been our stand.”
Madhav’s remark comes a day after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti urged the central government to adopt Vajpayee-like approach towards Kashmir.
The BJP leader also attacked Pakistan for its involvement in terror attacks in Kashmir.
He said the state government has a double task — one to curb the violence and second to make the life of common man in the state comfortable.
