Police have issued shoot at sight orders in Qamarwari and other neighborhood area of the Srinagar city outskirts in a bid to prevent people from defying curfew that entered second month since the civil protests triggered by the death of charismatic Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 8th.
Early morning, police vans fitted with public address system made repeated announcements in Qamarwari, Barthana, Parimpur and PC Depot in the city outskirts, warning people that they will be shot if they step out of their houses.
They said that hundreds of CRPF troopers and policemen in full riot gear have been deployed along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway to enforce curfew. Even lanes and by lanes have been sealed with barricades and razor wire to restrict the movement of civilians.
