Intense Protests Rock Lolab

Enraged over alleged police excesses, arrest spree and misbehaviour allegedly being exhibited by government forces, hundreds of people defying curfew continued their protest demonstration in the premises of Lalpora grand masjid on 2nd consecutive day Tuesday.

Amid pro-freedom songs the youth appealed locals from masjid loud speakers to assemble in the local Eidgah for a massive protest march.

Lalpora in Kupwara is under strict curfew since July 8.

2 youth are said to have sustained injuries in yesterday evening clashes.

Meanwhile, hundreds of men women and children including elders have joined the protesters at Lalpora.

They hoisted a Pakistan flag in middle of the main road.
