BJP leader from Gujjar community Eshfaq Ur Rehman Poswal today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allow him to carry out Tiranga rally from Line of control in J&K to summer capital (Lal Chowk) in Srinagar.
In a statement issued here, Poswal wrote a detail letter to the prime minister apprising him of prevailing situation in Kashmir and also about the tendencies of Kashmir province.
He said that in run up to the Independence Day on August 15, there is a need to reassess the prevailing situation in Kashmir.
“Curfew should be lifted in some areas which have witnessed improvement in ground situation and school and other educational institutions should be thrown open so that education of children does not suffer anymore,” he said.
Poswal said there is need to carry out a Tiranga Rally from line of control in Karnah constituency of Kupwara district to lal chowk in Srinagar so that large number of youth are made to participate in the rally and demonstrate their love for nationalism to the world community “Powal mention in the letter”.
The BJP leader also sought relief compensation for people including women and children who were not part of anti-India demonstrations but were killed or injured in security forces firing in many areas.
Poswal said that the conduct of Tiranga rally in Kashmir province will give a befitting response to Pakistan that has been sponsoring militancy in conflict hit Kashmir.
Poswal stressed the need to form a renewed strategy to combat incidents of stone throwing in Kashmir and engaged youths in different ways to restore law and order in the region so that the agenda of peace and development is furthered
He hoped that union govt will permit him to carry out the rally in Kashmir and provide adequate security arrangement for its peaceful conductance.
