As per joint program given by Hurriyat leaders the people of Abi Guzar including Chairman Democratic Political Movement Firdous Ahmad Shah and senior trade member Sajid Gul have started sanitation and cleanness drive.
Hundreds of youths participated in the cleanliness drive in Palhallan, Pattan and other areas.
Sanitation and cleanliness drives were held across Kashmir valley on a call issued by the joint pro-freedom leadership. As soon as the clocked ticked 10 in the morning, people took to brooms and cleaned roads, lanes and by-lanes in various localities.
In Sopore, a group of youths were seen cleaning sewers. Similar exercises were held across the valley, including the summer capital Kashmir. Hundreds of youths participated in the cleanliness drive in Palhallan, Pattan and other areas.
In Pattan town, Sub District Hospital was also cleaned by the youths. The joint pro-freedom leadership had appealed people to hold the drive from 10 am to 4 pm. Kashmir has been under strict curfew since July 9, a day after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.
