In a rare incident, Pradesh Congress Youth General Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir along with his workers were allegedly thrashed and beaten to pulp by a police party at Chinnar Kangan.
In a statement, Lok Sabha General Secretary, Youth Congress, Showkat Ahmad Zargar alleged that he along with his three party workers while travelling from Kangan towards Ganderbal, were intercepted and beaten to pulp by a police party near stone crusher at Chinnar Kangan.
“We were stopped and ordered to get down from the car by policemen deployed at Chinnar. Despite showing my identity card, they gave no respect and treated me ill and my workers were beaten to pulp. The cops even argued with me and slapped me as well”, Zargar alleged.
“I went to district police authorities and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal with my complaint against the accused and requested them to lodge a case against those policemen, but the men at police station Ganderbal and Kangan didn’t pay any heed to my request and my submission about registering a case was denied”, he added.
