Terming the use of excessive force and military might on peaceful and unarmed protesters resulting in the killing of over 60 civilians and injuries to thousands of people during the past month as the worst example of state terrorism, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today said the way three unarmed innocents were martyred and around 400 injured since Friday makes it clear that the state government has launched a war against Kashmiris.
He said by indulging in the bloodbath of the people, the government is committing grave atrocities on the principle of “everything is fair in war”.
In a statement here, he condemned the atrocities committed on the people in every nook and corner of Kashmir by Indian forces and police, and imposition of continuous curfew, restrictions and curbs imposed in Srinagar and most parts of the Valley besides the arrest spree of over 600 youth, Hurriyat activists and other resistance groups.
The Mirwaiz said that police and forces are raiding the houses of people and trampling the sanctity of houses breaking their window panes, abusing people and this violent approach of forces has created havoc across Kashmir.
Mirwaiz said that through these harsh measures the rulers want to defeat peoples will but these forces of evil should know that peoples will and their passion for freedom has and will not be defeated by military might.
Mirwaiz said the government was indulging in barbaric ways of dealing with protestors by indiscriminate use of pellets tear smoke shells, which were aimed to injure and kill.
