Condemns defence ministers remarks to defend use of bullets by army
AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has said that people have no option but to follow protest calendars of resistance leadership in letter and spirit and added that granting Kashmiris right to self-determination is the only way forward to establish peace. Addressing a gathering at Qalamabad Handwara, he said that the arrogant behaviour of New Delhi and its utterances have added the anger among all sections of society.
He said, “It is ironical that despite loss of precious lives and continuous curfew in the entire valley, Union government is dictating terms to Kashmiris and in a way asking them to surrender and is giving no signals to start a dialogue with resistance leadership for resolving the Kashmir dispute in its historic perspective. The statement made by Defence Minister Manohar Parikar that if army is used by civil authorities in disturbed areas, they will not use lathies but have guns to kill whosoever comes their way, is highly condemnable and speaks of sick mentality of the minister. Mr. Parikar without referring to Kashmir was giving a green signal to army to go ahead whatever they want to do with Kashmiris and let there be no doubt that Indian state treats Kashmiris as its enemies and thus the defence minister crosses all the levels of morality and decency.
However, Mr. Parikar’s threats cannot demoralize Kashmiri masses and are ample proof to justify our allegations against army, enjoying impunity under AFSPA.” Er Rasheed added however, people need to keep in mind that they should not allow any miscreants or anti-Kashmiri elements to divert their pious movement, as the frustration of Indian agencies and political establishment has reached its peak. Er Rasheed further added that security forces have left dozens of houses in Kralgund, Beighpora and Nehama villages damaged and warned police administration of dire consequences if it doesn’t stop atrocities and damaging property of unarmed civilians. Er Rasheed appealed people to donate to registered trusts and local Bait-ul-Maals, so that the victims of state terrorism are provided adequate medicines and other facilities.
