The small region of Phagwara, a shanty Punjabi town, witnessed a violent conflict yesterday when Muslims and Sikhs in the area came together to ward off Hindutva activists of the Shiv Sena party, reports said on Saturday.
Inderjit Karwal, the party’s state vice president, carried out protests with Shiv Sena activists pertaining to the disruption of Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir following the protests after the killing of Burhan Wani.
As per reports both the parties involved in the clash started pelting stones at each other while few individuals threw sharp objects during the conflict which lasted for almost an hour. No one was killed in the incident; dozens were left injured.
