Since 8th July evening, when the news of the death of Burhan Wani, 22, the poster boy and top Hizb commander spread like wild fire, Sopore is witnessing continuous and violent clashes. Sources said scores have been injured since Saturday in clashes with armed forces. Sources also said that pellet guns have been used indiscriminately in the town and scores have received pellet injures.
Sources said public service systems were used during the intervening night of 16-17 July for sloganeering. Women are also part of the ongoing protests.
Sources also said a youth was killed in Chankhan area of Sopore on Saturday evening. However, the killing of the youth could not be confirmed as the communication lines are snapped in north Kashmir was well.
