Emotional scenes were witnessed at SMHS hospital here as Amarnath pilgrims injured in a road accident were discharged from the hospital.

The pilgrims hugged the Kashmiri Muslims and promised them to present right picture of Kashmir to others in their states.

They got emotional as Kashmiri Muslims offered them all kind of help including food and medicines free of cost during these days.

Braving curfew-like restrictions, local residents risked their lives to rescue Amarnath pilgrims injured in the road accident near Sangam on the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Wednesday and ferried them to a nearby hospital.

Some of the injured were later referred to SMHS hospital.

“Believe us, our own brethren in Meerut couldn’t have treated us like this. You (Kashmiri Muslims) rescued us while police and army refused to help us. You provided us free medicines and food,” said Atul to the group of locals at SMHS.

The pilgrims said that their all misconceptions about Kashmir and Kashmiri people are clear now.

“We had heard many wrong things about this place. We can tell now with authority to the world that Kashmir is really heaven and people of Kashmir are its angels,” pilgrims told locals.
