A government-run hospital in North Kashmir’s Lolab area was attacked by forces on Sunday morning.
Local reports reaching here said that JKP, Task Force and CRPF men early today reached anti-PHC Lalpora and “ransacked the hospital and harassed the employees”.
“Task force, police and CRPF men attacked us,” a patient said, “the hospital infrastructure was broken and staff members harassed and humiliated.”
Notably, Lalpora area of Lolab witnessed intense protests and tear gassing on Saturday following the death of poster boy of “new age” militancy, Burhan Wani.
“Even a medical shop runner was beaten by the forces,” the local patient said.
An employee of the hospital said that forces “asked the para-medical staff not to treat any injured”.
“They damaged the solar plant breaking its five plates; window panes, buckets and stair cases were damaged,” the sources said.
Saturday witnessed intense clashes in the area, however, sources said, “whosoever was injured was shifted to Kupwara because road leading to hospital was blocked by police.”
