Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Bali Bhagat today said the Government has allotted fair price shops at different health institutions of the state as per the policy on allotment of sites formulated by the Government in 2008.
Replying to a question of Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, the Minister said according to the formulated policy the fair price shop should be within the premises of health institution and the allotment shall be made through auction by inviting sealed bids from general public through advertisement in leading local newspapers.
The Minister said two fair price medical shops are running in Jammu city at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar and Government Hospital, Sarwal, while as there is no fair price shop in Srinagar city.
The Minister further informed that a shop was allotted at Government Hospital Sarwal to the successful bidder in the year 2012 by Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
The Minister said the successful bidder has deposited the bid amount of Rs 18.50 lakh and Rs 2.43 lakh as rent of the shop running in the makeshift arrangement.
