Government is committed to eradicate Drug Menace from Society

Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Asiea Naqash said that the present Government is committed to eradicate Drug Menace from Society.

The Minister was speaking at a drug de-addiction seminar which was organized by Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar.

The Minister said that massive anti drug awareness camps and seminars are organized across the state with an aim to inform youth about the evils of drug addiction. “We appreciate the work of Department of Psychiatry of Government Medical College Srinagar which has performed well for the treatment of drug addicts and almost 4000 patients are treated by this centre”, she said.

On the occasion students of GMC threw light on drug addiction, causes, effects and the methods of de-addiction.

In the end Minister distributed certificates among the students.

Principal and Dean of GMC, Prof. Kaiser Ahmad, Head of Department of Psychiatry GMC Srinagar,  Dr. Mohammad Maqbool, Faculty Members and students of GMC are present on this occasion.
