Breaking the customary protocol, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has taken a much needed step asking the Deputy Commissioner Budgam and SSP Budgam that they should not come to Srinagar International Airport whenever the CMs arrives or departures.

According to a local agency, Mehbooba has said, “I want to discontinue this tradition or protocol, whatever it is. Henceforth you will not come to the airport when Chief Minister leaves or arrives.”

The Chief Minister told this to DC and SSP Budgam on her arrival from Jammu today.

As per the protocol, the DC Budgam and SSP Budgam are supposed to arrive at the Airport to receive the Chief Minister.

Mehbooba has asked the top district officers that they should use this time to at their respective offices to redress the grievances of people instead of coming to the Airport every now and then to see-off and receive the Chief Minister.
