Another encounter breaks out in Kupwara forests

A gun fight raged between militants and the joint team of army and SOG at Waterkhani forest area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Acting on a specific information about the presence of some militants at forest area of Cherwari in Waterkhani near Drugmulla, army’s 47 RR and SOG launched cordoned-and-search operation in the area.
Soon after the forces launched cordon in the forest area, the militants opened fire upon them triggering off an encounter.

When reports last came in, the cordon-and-search operation was going on.
