Top LeT commander apprehended in Lolab; says police

Police on Monday arrested a top LeT militant from Sogam market in Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

A police official told that the apprehended person is believed to be the top militant commander of Lashkar-i-Toiba namely Abu Ukasha alias Hanzullah of Pakistan.

“A grenade and around 38K cash has been recovered from his possession”, the official said

The official termed the arrest of the Pak militant as a “big success”.

He said that further investigations into the case has been launched and denied to divulge further details.

Eyewitnesses told news agency GNS that a police team appeared in Sogam market at around 7:00 pm today evening and detained the person who was purchasing eatables and other items apparently for Iffitar.

Meanwhile, sources said that two suspected militants who were accompanying the militant managed to flee from the spot.
