Two militants were killed in an encounter between militants and government forces which broke out in Bombai area of Sopore town on Friday.
Late Thursday night, government forces including 22 RR, SOG and CRPF cordoned off Bombai village following a tip off about presence of some militants there.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the search operation, the hiding militants opened fire on forces triggering off an encounter, the officials said.
When reports last came in, two militants has been killed and the search,heavy protests was going on in the area.
