Dental College raid: Two youth armed with pistols arrested

A Special team of police and Special Operation Group (SOG) sleuths on Thursday raided Government Dental College Srinagar and nabbed two youths who were armed with pistols, top official sources said.

Official sources told that the sleuths of SOG and Special Investigation Team (SIT) Rajbagh police station raided Dental College and overpowered two youths and later whisked them.

Sources identified the nabbed youths as Ishfaq Farooq Lone, son of Farooq Ahmad Lone, resident of Indergam Pattan and Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar, resident of Wussan Pattan.

 “Two pistols were recovered from the possession of the two nabbed youths and both are being interrogated by the police. Further investigation has also been started by the police,” the sources added.

Eyewitnesses said that around 11:40 a.m. two gypsies of SOG with its men in civvies entered into the hospital premises while number of uniformed men threw a cordon around it.

Meanwhile, family members of the duo have urged the police to allow them to meet with their missing children. They said that missing report of both of them was registered in respective police stations. “We urge police to allow us a meeting with them in custody,” they said.
