Doctors found absent from duty to be terminated: Bali Bhagat

Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today, replying to a question of Mohammad Khursheed Alam, informed that doctors who are found unauthorized absent from duties are being terminated by the Government after following due procedure under the article 128 of J&K  Civil Services Regulations(CSR).

The Minister informed that presently no doctor is on any long leave, adding that 3 doctors are on sanctioned duty leave for undergoing P.G courses outside the State.

Bali Bhagat informed that notices were served to 137 doctors found  unauthorized absent, of which 100 doctors were terminated from services and the cases of the rest 37 are under examination.

The Minister said posts which fell vacant after the termination of the doctors will be filled up on fast track basis, saying that, so far, 79 posts have been referred to PSC for recruitment.

Bali Bhagat said the Government is committed to streamline and expedite the entire recruitment process for filling up of posts of doctors, faculty members and consultant in the Department.

Javid Mirchal and Ghulam Nabi Monga raised supplementaries to the main question.
