Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, on Thursday said that women have a very important role to play to counter the agendas of RSS being implemented by the puppet government in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement, Nasreen, who led a delegation to the residence of senior Hurriyat leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, to condole his father’s demise, said it becomes imperative for the women of Kashmir to fail the plans of these Hindutva forces. “We have been struggling from the past seven decades and the seriousness of the present time demand that we fight this Indian aggression together as a Nation,” she said while addressing a gathering of women here at Pattan.
She said that proposals to set up of Sainik colonies, separate homeland for Pandits or identifying of caves and new Hindu pilgrimage sites meant that RSS was in a process of giving a final shape to its sinister policies regarding Kashmir. “These Hindutva forces want to end the disputed nature of JK and want to make Kashmir a permanent part of India,” she said.
Nasreen said that Kashmiris have never and will never accept India’s claim that JK is it integral part. “Our stand is that India has occupied us illegally and we stand for the right to self determination and believe in the two-nation theory by virtue of which we are a part of Pakistan,” she added.
She said that time has come when the people of Kashmir must stand up in unison and must put an end to the anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir policies. “Men, women, elderly as well as the children of this Nation must rise and should express their anger and opposition against all these anti-Muslim and facist policies,” she added.
“We must stand like a wall and must stop these forces from implementing the policies aimed at ending the Muslim character of this state,” she added
She further said that women comprise half of the society and they must play their role vis-à-vis the Kashmir issue. “Rather than wasting our time in useless activities, we must play a proactive role as far as the Kashmir issue is concerned. Our role is equally important as that of the men,” she added
“It is the duty of both Muslim men and women to fail the evil designs of its enemy. So the need of the hour is that we stand united and don’t allow India and its Hindutva forces to be successful in implementing their evil designs here,” she added.
