The recent warning of attacks on Sainik and separate Pandit colonies by Hizbul Mujahideen’s South Kashmir-based commander, Burhan Wani, echoed in the Legislative Council of J&K Legislature as ruling BJP staged protest against the militant commander and demanded statement from the Government.
The BJP MLCs while holding copy of a newspaper staged protest in the Upper House soon after its proceedings began here on Thursday. The BJP members were referring to the warnng of warning by Burhan Wani if State Government goes ahead with the establishment of separate Pandit colonies and Sainik Colony.
The BJP members said the warning by Burhan is a serious issue and the government should not only condemn it but also issue a statement. They also raised slogans against Hizb inside the House. However, there was no word by the Government and the BJP members later sat down silently.
On the other side, the Congress and NC members once again raised the issue of anti-Muslim statement by radical VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi. The Opposition NC and Congress also moved a resolution in the House and demanded that the resolution should be tabled.
However the Chairman of the House Anayat Ali said he will consider the tabling of resolution under rules. The Opposition later staged walk out from the House as they wanted him to table the statement only today. There was exchange of heated arguments between BJP and Opposition members for the second consecutive day as well.
