Nizamudin Bhat demands immediate assessment of losses

Feeling concerned over the damages to households and crops caused by wind storm at various places in valley PDP has demanded early assessment for relief.

Peoples Democratic Party General Secretary Nizamudin Bhat has invited attention of Horticulture, Agriculture and Revenue ministers towards the grave situation that has arisen out of the calamity.

Bhat  said Horticulture and Agriculture sectors were already under stress and wind storm have now made the situation worse in Bandipore and Anantnag.

Bhat  said it is an early relief to individual victims that can provide an incentive to give strength to farmers and growers to pull on. He demanded that revenue and other relevant agencies be geared for accurate , fair and timely assessment of losses with a financial provision for adequate support.

Bhat also hoped that state government will exhort upon union government also to meet the losses arising out of calamities like floods, rains windstorm and hailstorm.

He also visited Chuntwari Gujjar Patti  where a ten year old girl got killed after a tree fell on her due to this wind storm to express solidarity with the bereaved family. He also demanded exgratia to the family.
