SRINAGAR: Government of Jammu and Kashmir Friday admitted that a huge chunks of land and immovable properties of the State at New Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Haryana are under unauthorized occupation, however it added that steps have been taken by the Department of Hospitality and Protocol to reclaim and retrieve these properties at and earliest.
Minister of Hospitality and Protocol in response to the query raised by National Conference legislator Ali Muhammad Sagar informed the Legislative Assembly that out of total 1404 kanals of state property outside Jammu and Kashmir, only 23 kanals of land are in State possession while all but 1381 kanals of land have been illegally occupied by private and government parties including Ministry of Defence Government of India.
