Srinagar: Dukhtaran e millat chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andarbi, on Thursday castigated police for arresting 40 persons including 26 children during nocturnal raids in South Kashmir’ Pulwama district.
In a statement issued here, Andrabi said that the arrested persons (mostly children who are studying in various Higher Secondary schools) were arrested on the charges of being “staunch stone throwers” and police wasn’t able to kill Mujahideen due to stiff resistance by these kids during an encounter.”
“This is a matter of shame for the JKP who fear the stones thrown by the kids. They can act against these kids but shamelessly ignore the oppression of Kashmiri Muslims by the 10 lakh Indian armed forces,” she said.
“By arresting these innocent kids, JKP wants to suppress the voice that is being voiced from the past 70 years against an illegal and brutal Indian occupation,” she added.
She said that like other armed forces, JKP too indulges in maiming and killing the Muslims of J&K.
She said that the recent statement by Indian Defense Minister, Manohar Parrikar, that the Indian government has given full authority to the armed forces in Kashmir, exposes the fact that army can kill anyone without any reason in Kashmir. “They can operate with complete immunity and can kill anyone without even being questioned,” she said.
She said the pro-India politicians and the JKP personnel were suppressing Kashmiri Muslims at all levels.
