New Delhi: An air ambulance from Patna crash-landed near the airport in Delhi after losing both its engines. Seven people were on board; two have been injured.
The C-90 Beechking aircraft belonging to Alchemist Airways was remarkably intact after it landed on a field in Najafgarh in the South West part of the capital.
On the plane was a doctor, a heart patient being transported from Patna to a Delhi hospital, and a technician besides the crew.
The pilot decided to make an emergency landing after its engines shut down one after the other just as it was approaching the runway, and possibly averted a major disaster.
Just after landing, the pilot called the Air Traffic Control.
The patient, Virendra Rai, was rushed from the site to the Medanta Medicity.
