NC condemns attack; expresses solidarity with bereaved families

Srinagar: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah have condemned the attacks on policemen in Srinagar and have expressed shock and grief at the killing of three policemen in separate attacks in the summer capital. Expressing solidarity with the families of the policemen, Farooq and Omar Abdullah have paid glowing tributes to the fallen policemen and prayed for peace to the departed souls.

Omar Abdullah said such attacks during broad daylight in Srinagar were worrisome and the Government should treat this situation with utmost seriousness. “This is a grave development and the Government should get to the bottom of this without wasting any time. I express my solidarity with the families of the martyred policemen and hope there is swift action in nabbing those responsible for these attacks”, the NC Working President said.

Senior NC Leaders including NC General Secretary Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, NC Provincial President and former MoS Home Nasir Aslam Wani, Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mir Saifullah and Qaiser Jamsheed Lone have also paid glowing tributes to the martyred policemen and expressed solidarity with their families.

On the instructions of the party leadership, NC District Head Kupwara and MLC Qaiser Jamsheed Lone along with other office bearers and leaders of Kupwara District took part in the wreath laying ceremony held in Srinagar and offered their floral tributes to the martyred policemen. Pertinently all slain policemen belonged to Kupwara District.
