Chief Minister Raman Singh’s Lok Swaraj Abhiyan, is grabbing eyeballs for all the wrong reasons.
During Swaraj Abhiyan journey in Jashpur, the state education Minister Kedar Kashyap has asked the girl students not to waste their time on make-up and focus on studies.
“It’s better to focus on homework than make-up. Make-up won’t bring you identity, studies will. Stop involving your mind into make-up, rather make-up your mind for future,” Kashyap made the statement in Chetba village of Kansabel block.
In no time, the minister’s video went viral on the social media and drew lots of criticism.
Activists have termed the remark of the minister as ‘sexist’.
Earlier, Kashyap was involved in another controversy when his her sister-in-law allegedly impersonated his wife to write MA English exam at an exam Center in Lohandiguda, Bastar.
Congress wasted no time in criticizing the minister.
Congress Spokesperson Shailesh Nitin issued a statement saying whatever the Kedar Kashyap said was not a slip of tongue but a deliberate remark to hurt and demean the women.
“His remarks have also exposed the RSS thought process in his mind,” he added.
Clarifying his remark, Kedar Kashyap said his intention was not to hurt anybody’s feelings but rather asking girls to be more serious
