Khyber Agro Farms Private Limited on Saturday filed an affidavit before High Court, stating that has fully functional chemical as well as microbiological laboratories for testing of milk and products made of it.
In a reply submitted before the Court, the company produced the records in which it maintained that besides chemical and microbiological laboratories, it has qualified human resources including Dairy Technologist, Food Technologist, Microbiologists and other qualified personnel working for quality check of its products.
Khyber, which is the only ISO 2200:2005 certified company from Kashmir, said it has implemented proper food safety management system certified by Intertek.
The certification provided Intertek has declared that the food safety management system of the company is applicable to receiving of Raw Milk, Processing and packaging of poly packed milk, cream, white butter, curd, paneer (cheese) and ghee.
It also produced the records showing the daily test analysis reports of raw milk as well as processed milk.
“Every test including of dairy products, food products are being done in the laboratory for the safety of people, which is the utmost priority of the company,” it said.
The samples of milk products lifted and sent for testing by the government’s food and safety department, Pulwama on April 6 have already been declared to be free from adulteration by Farelabs, Gurgaon, a food testing laboratory accredited by Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
A division bench of the court meanwhile directed the company to file an undertaking that in case the company’s food items were found adulterated; the company was liable to be sealed.
“The managing director, Khyber Agro Farms, to file the undertaking in terms of previous court order before the next date,” the court said.
