In 2016, nobody really needs new reasons to love Julia Roberts, but here she is, turning us into Julia fangirls all over again. Earlier today, she walked the prestigious, and also very strict, Cannes red carpet for her new movie, Money Monster, and she did that barefoot.
Cannes’ strict and senseless ‘heels-only’ policy first came to light in 2015, when a group of women attendees was turned away from a screening for not wearing heels. In the following sessions, many actors spoke up against the rule, but nobody shut it down like Julia.
She entered the event in her perfect Armani gown, and posed for the waiting cameras. The real surprise was when she lifted her gown to share her happy, not-in-pain feet, and smiled her trademark smile. She then posed with co-star George Clooney, his wife Amal, director Jodie Foster, and the rest of her team.
More proof that slaying doesn’t require heels.
