CIC making exhaustive information public

Central Information Commission’s Website (cic.gov.in) contains information about status of appeals and complaints, monthly progress reports, pending cases report, decisions of Information Commissioners / First Appellate Authority, monthly reports on registered and returned cases, Annual reports etc.

Sensitive information which may harm the soveignity & integrity, the security, strategic, scientific or economic interests of country etc are exempt from disclosure under the provisions of the RTI Act.

This was stated by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question by Smt. Thota Seetharama Lakshmi in the Rajya Sabha today.
